12 Days of Handmade - DIY Fresh Cranberry Heart Ornament

To kick off Day 2 of our 12 Days of Handmade Ornaments, I'll be showing you guys how to make a super simple heart shaped ornament using one of my favorite holiday fruits, fresh cranberries! You can usually find a fresh bag of cranberries in most grocery stores and since they're a hardy berry, they make for great garland and ornament making!

Here's what you will need for these super simple ornaments...

- fresh cranberries

- heavy duty wire (you can find this in most craft sections, usually located by the jewelry making items) / *you'll want to choose a wire that will keep its shape after bending.

- string

- pliers (or heavy duty scissors)

How to:

First you will want to pick through your berries and discard any that are squishy. Then you will want to cut a piece of wire, about 12in in length.

Next, you will want to string your cranberries on the strand of wire until it is full.

After your wire is full, take both ends and twist them together. You now will have a circle. Take your circle and bend it into a heart shape.

Lastly you will want to tie some string at the top to hang your ornament with and you are finished! These ornaments are so fun to make and great for most ages!

I'll be back tomorrow for another fun day of ornament making!
